Meanwhile
some likers who are composed of Filipino Hallyu
or Korean wave fans shared their insights about the said Facebook pages.
EJ
Munieza, a third-year college student from Philippine Normal University (PNU)
and a fan of Korean shows for three years now, said even how busy she is she still
visits the page on her free time and admitted that the pages’ posts really
entertain her.
“Natutuwa ako sa mga post nila. Sobrang nakaka-entertain. Kapag
may free time ako, tinitignan ko lang ‘yong mga post then natutuwa ako sa mga memes,” Munieza told.
(The
posts amuse me. They are very entertaining. Whenever I have free time, I look
at their posts then I get amused at their memes.)
Maricris
Guerrero, a second-year Journalism student and a Hallyu fan for six years now, shared what makes the two pages
unique from other Facebook fan pages.
“Humor,
‘yon talaga. Napaka-creative no’ng
admin no’ng page kasi nagagawan niya ng humor ‘yong
isang certain palabas o issue sa Korea. Tsaka bukod sa super [nakaka] aliw
no’ng pino-post nila, sila ‘yon nagiging boses ng K-Drama fans
sa Pinas kasi super timely talaga nila,” Guerrero said via Facebook.
(It’s
the humor. The page’s admin is very creative because they can put humor in a
certain show or issue in Korea. Aside from the entertaining posts, they become
the voice of K-Drama fans in the Philippines because they are very timely.)

On
the other hand, even some non-Hallyu
fans also admitted that they find the pages’ post entertaining.
“Natuwa naman ako. Well ang maganda kasi sa kanila kahit iba-iba ang
loveteams ay laging nagki-click ‘yong mga series nila unlike dito sa’tin,” Johannah Dela Rosa, third-year student from University of Caloocan
and a non-K-Drama viewer said after visiting the Saranghaeyo Oppa page.
(I
was entertained. Well the good thing about them [K-Dramas] is even loveteams are
interchanged, they still become a hit unlike here in our country.)
Meanwhile
graduating Journalism student, Annabell Pascual who also admitted she’s a
non-K-Drama buff, said she find the pages’ memes funny since she likes memes as
well but said that it isn’t enough to turn her to a fan.
“Mahilig talaga ako sa mga memes. But if
that page, for example, would fish me para
maging K-Pop fan, I think not,”
(I
really like memes. But if that page, for example, would fish me to be a K-Pop fan,
I think not.)
Pascual
also gave her observation on the behavior of K-Drama fans.
“‘Yong comments din ng mga K-Pop fans, highly interactive sila. Nagkaroon sila sa’kin
ng impression na mababait din in
general ‘yong mga K-Pop fans…Sana lang is, interactive din ‘yong admins no’ng page sa fans, like mag-reply sila sa mga comments, gano’n.
After all, lahat naman sila fans. And
sana tumanggap sila ng submissions
from fans like memes na ipo-post sa page para sa more interactivity,”
she told.
(The
comments of K-Pop fans, they are highly interactive. They are having this impression
to me that K-Pop fans are nice in general… I just hope that the admins of the
page are also interactive to their fans like they will reply to their comments.
After all, they are all fans. And I hope they accept submissions from fans like
memes which will be posted on the page for more interactivity.)
